Family Liaison Officer job summary
We are looking for someone with a desire to support our Academy in ensuring our pupils reach their potential. You will be dynamic, resilient and motivated with a willingness to uphold our high expectations to secure ‘Outstanding Achievement for All’.
You must be able to support the needs of the pupils, Heads of Year Team and Attendance. You will serve as a vital link between the school, students, and their families, primarily focused on supporting attendance, engagement, and overall well-being. You will be promoting effective communication between home and school by being available for parents/carers on both a drop-in and appointment basis, communicating effectively with all agencies and arranging and recording meetings. You will also be supporting the students by ensuring they are in the right frame of mind to access and engage in lessons, developing solutions for individual student issues and supporting the development of progress strategies whilst providing comfort and immediate care and support.
We are looking for a candidate who is:
· Highly committed, enthusiastic, flexible and skilled, who is passionate about supporting children’s learning.
· Able to show initiative and work independently and as part of a team
· Has excellent interpersonal skills
· Can communicate well with children and adults and who is able to gain the confidence of families within our school community
· Has a warm personality and is able to remain calm under pressure
· Is able to plan programmes of support and maintain accurate records of involvement
· Is able to demonstrate emotional literacy, empathy, be supportive and discreet.
