Family Support Worker job summary

Our experienced Head teacher and her supportive senior leadership team are looking for Family Support Worker to join their team at Edenbridge Primary School. As the Family Support Worker you will also be the Designated Safeguarding Lead for the school which may require some flexibility in hours should the need arise. This position is term time only, part time and the hours are 09.30 – 14.30 Monday – Friday. As a family worker you will be responsible for providing constructive support to vulnerable families with the aim to increase engagement with these families and thereby reduce the barriers to learning and increase participation in school life by:

Key responsibilities include:

  • Being an outstanding practitioner in their field
  • To support other agencies and families in improving attendance of identified children
  • Working with families, the wider community and other agencies to ensure consistency and good practice is embedded
  • Ensure that parent-school relationships are as strong as possible – enabling at risk pupils and their families to quickly receive all necessary support if required
