Family Support Worker (Primary School) job summary

Hours of Work: Part time - 30 hours per week, term time (39 weeks) plus INSET days. Monday to Friday, 8:15am to 2:45pm (including a 30 minute unpaid lunch break to be taken 11:45am to 12:15pm).

Whilst this role is required Monday to Friday, applications may be considered from those interested working part time days (less than 5 days per week) and also hybrid working may be considered (e.g. for completing administrative duties).

Grade/Salary: Full time equivalent range: £31,586 - £36,124 per annum. Actual salary for 30 hours: £21, 954 - £25,108 per annum

Contract: Permanent

The key responsibilities for this post include the following (a comprehensive job description and person specification are available):

  • To undertake joint work and interventions with family members, schools, other practitioners and outside agencies
  • To attend statutory reviews, Child Protection conferences and other meetings as required; reporting on work completed and providing written reports when required
  • To maintain accurate monitoring data and up to date case records on MyConcern
  • Develop, implement and evaluate appropriate interventions and strategies for the benefit of targeted children and their families

  • Communicate effectively with children, young people and families in a wide variety of settings.
  • Work effectively with other team members, foster and maintain working relationships with colleagues from other agencies.
  • Write clear and concise observations and reports on work undertaken.
