Family Worker with responsibility for Wellbeing and Safeguarding job summary
We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Family Worker to join our team. This rewarding role involves supporting children, young people, and their families to improve wellbeing, build resilience, and achieve positive outcomes.
As part of your responsibilities, you will act as the Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead (DDSL), supporting the Designated Safeguarding Lead in promoting a strong safeguarding culture, managing safeguarding concerns, maintaining accurate records, and working with relevant agencies to ensure the safety and welfare of children and vulnerable individuals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide practical, emotional, and advocacy support to families.
- Assess family needs and develop tailored support plans.
- Work collaboratively with schools, health professionals, and partner agencies.
- Safeguard and promote the welfare of children.
- Support the Designated Safeguarding Lead in managing safeguarding and child protection concerns.
- Maintain accurate case records, reports, and safeguarding documentation.
- Contribute to early intervention and family support programmes.
About You:
- Experience working with children, young people, and families in a support, education, or social care setting.
- Strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.
- Ability to build positive relationships and work effectively with a range of professionals.
- Commitment to improving outcomes for children and families.
