What skills and experience we're looking for

We are looking for someone with drive, creativity and a passion to join our team and lead our farm provision; primarily teaching students lessons in animal care and horticulture, but also caring for the animals and maintaining their environments. We are looking for someone who can deliver ‘quality first’ learning experiences that challenge and engage or students. The AVA Farm team, a group of volunteer staff, also provide support with day-to-day animal care. *Please note, there is a requirement for some weekend working which can be discussed at interview.*

The successful candidate would have a significant amount of responsibility in regards to both students and animals; the right person would need an understanding of health and safety and farm risk assessments as well as how to deliver appropriate curriculums for our students. As our farm is in the early stages of development, SLT and staff from Tom’s Farm, would be supporting the successful candidate in developing this provision and they would receive training from the Manager of Tom’s Farm.
