JOB OVERVIEW
Elmlea Schools encompasses the Elmlea Infant School and Elmlea Junior school. Both schools have “outstanding” Ofsted ratings and are renowned for their all-round education. On 1st March 2025, Elmlea Schools Trust became part of the larger Multi-Academy Trust, Russell Education Trust.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a strong candidate to join the Business Team at Elmlea Schools as a Finance Administrator to support the business and accounting functions of Elmlea Infant School and Elmlea Junior School. We are looking for an adaptable, flexible and resourceful team member to work within the Business Team. Working across the Elmlea Schools, and wider Trust where required, to provide high quality and effective financial and administrative support to the Trust.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
The responsibilities of the role include:
Undertaking the full range of financial procedures, in line with the Trust’s Financial Management Policy and procedures.
Assist the Business Team with the design and implementation of the school’s financial procedures and systems.
Produce a range of financial information and analysis, generating statistical reports within the required deadlines.
Maintain the Trust’s accounting system in accordance with financial regulations and procedures. As part of the transfer into Russell Education Trust, Elmlea Schools will be moving onto the PSF Financials accounting system.
Manage and place orders for Elmlea Schools.
Manage, process and pay all suppliers for Elmlea Schools.
Manage, invoice and collect receipts from all sales (mostly lettings and PTA) for Elmlea Schools.
Assist in month and year end financial procedures.
THE RIGHT CANDIDATE WILL:
be an experienced accountant, ideally within an educational setting, or within finance. Training will be provided on the PSF Financials system.
A bookkeeping or accounting qualification would be preferable, but not essential.
demonstrate excellent numeracy skills.
have excellent IT skills, including Word and Excel, along with experience of finance databases.
demonstrate the skills and ability to accurately input data and generate analytical reports.
be flexible, especially during peak periods for example financial year end.
possess a high level of verbal and written communication skills.
have high levels of organisation skills, with the ability to prioritise work at peak times, whilst enjoying the challenges this brings from a larger than average school.
Have GCSE English and Maths at grade C or above
The position is permanent and ideally the staff member will join at the start of term 5, being 22nd April 2025. The position is for 26 hours per week in term time plus 3 weeks of non-term time. Working hours 9:00 to 16:00.
Salary: BG8-BG9 SCP full time salary range: £28,163 - £33,366 pro rata - actual salary range: £ 18,445 - £21,853, term time plus 3 weeks and 5 days inset attendance required (pro rata)
