Finance Assistant job summary

We are looking to appoint a confident and organised individual to provide financial assistance and support to the school and assist with the day to day running of the Finance Office as part of a Job Share. Experience of working in a finance role is essential, and previous experience of working in a similar role in a school would be desirable. The successful candidate will need to use ParentMail, PS Financials and Arbor on a regular basis so experience of these systems would be desirable however training will be provided to the successful candidate.

Some of the responsibilities of the role include:

  • To assist with school lettings, liaison with outside agencies, invoicing and calendar checking. Check ‘aged debtor’ list monthly for non-payment.=
  • To process travel and subsistence claims. Check details for accuracy and obtain authorisation.
  • To be responsible for the timely banking of all cash and checking all cash receipts agree with cash banking.
  • To record, enter and reconcile all income with that received.
  • To assist staff and students with their enquiries and deal with routine telephone calls.
  • Oversee Cashless Catering.
  • To be responsible for all aspects of ParentMail.
  • To be responsible for recording supplier invoices and preparing payments to suppliers.
