FINANCE CLERK / ASSISTANT
27 hours per week, Term Time Only
CLPT Scale 7 (FTE £26403) to CLPT Scale 17 (FTE £31022) pro rota
You will act as the first point of contact for purchasing and invoicing matters in the school . The role will be based at Moseley Park School. The role will assist the internal financial control, school budget and financial systems in the school. Responsibilities will include compliance with all statutory regulations and procedures.
Main Duties will include;
Carry out financial procedures such as placing orders and preparing payments in order to support efficient use of the school’s budget.
Process orders and invoices, including arranging payment for goods and verifying supplier invoices, to ensure that all invoices are paid on time.
To receive orders and distribute accordingly.
Liaise with suppliers to chase invoices to ensure that payments are paid on time.
Liaise with customers to obtain quotes to assist the school in finding services that are the best value for money.
Monitor budgets and report any discrepancies to (appropriate person) to ensure correct use of the school’s budget.
Analyse data to produce financial reports, taking advice from senior staff where necessary, to ensure that the Headteacher is kept updated on the school’s budget.
Reconcile bank accounts to ensure that all transactions are logged correctly and accounted for audit.
Support the team with general administrative duties, such as filing and distribution of post, to ensure the smooth running of the finance and administration service.
To Assist with budget setting for the school's annual budget to ensure that the budget is reasonable and meets the school’s needs.
Monitor the school s financial records, identifying reasons for any discrepancies, to ensure that the school’s expenditure is fully accounted for.
Analyse and interpret financial data in order to produce reports for the Headteacher to ensure that Senior Leadership are updated on the school’s financial position.
Adhere to financial regulations and oversee that junior team members understand these regulations to ensure full team compliance.
Experience of using SAGE would be desired but not essential as training will be given.

Experience of using Arbor
Experience in a similar role
Have experience of school data systems and/or examination administration
Demonstrate excellent organisational and analytical skills
Be highly accurate with strong attention to detail
Be able to manage multiple deadlines and work under pressure
Have strong communication skills, working effectively with staff, students and external agencies
