Finance Manager

Pickwick Academy Trust would like to recruit a permanent, part-time Finance Manager based in the North Dorset Hub office at Gillingham Primary School.

Required to start: as soon as possible

Hours: 15 hours per week, to be worked over three days between 8.30am – 4.30pm Monday to Friday, 42 weeks per annum (term time plus TD days and 3 weeks in the school holidays). The trust is happy to negotiate working pattern with the successful candidate.

Salary Point I18 – 20, £32,076 - £33,945 pro rata, per annum (actual salary £12,045 - £12,747 per annum) plus pending salary review, dependent on experience.

We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic individual to join our fantastic team who is motivated to support the trust to achieve the best education for all of our pupils. The successful candidate will be responsible for the delivery of a professional and effective financial management service to their schools with the overall objective of achieving value for money and securing financial stability, in accordance with procedures in the Pickwick Academy Trust Financial Procedures Manual.

Job purpose:

To work with the Head of Finance and Head Teacher to implement the Trust vision and strategic direction for finance and funding so that it is understood and acted upon by all stakeholders.

To provide a range of high-quality financial services to the Head Teacher to support the effective management and monitoring of the school’s financial position so that the school can run smoothly and efficiently in the delivery of its core aims.

The Finance Manager will support the Head of Finance, and where appropriate lead in financial accounting alongside the preparation and monitoring of budgets and end of year processes on behalf of their school/s. They will ensure that all work is completed to the high standard expected from a public body in accordance with the ESFA Academy Trust Handbook and all statutory requirements.
