We have a vacancy for a confident, enthusiastic, suitably qualified and experienced Finance Officer. The role is ideal for those who like a busy working environment, enjoy undertaking a wide range of duties and value developing strong relationships with key personnel in the School. The successful candidate will be hard working, organised, flexible and enthusiastic with the ability to work proactively either independently or within the team and will be based at our Upper School site.

The successful candidate will:

  • have significant relevant experience in a similar role
  • be very well organised and efficient
  • have a confident and professional manner
  • be a skilled ICT practitioner, with excellent Microsoft Excel skills
  • have very good interpersonal skills
  • have a strong organisational ability
  • NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification

You will play a significant role in ensuring the efficient and effective running of the Finance and Administration Team at School in a manner which provides a high-quality service to the whole School community.

Applicants must have a good working knowledge of the whole suite of Microsoft Office software and be comfortable using Word and Excel extensively. We use SIMS as our main management information software and whilst familiarity with this piece of software is not essential the successful candidate must be able to learn quickly as they will use this central source of management information on a daily basis.

This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and the successful applicant will be required to apply for an enhanced DBS certificate. As the post will involve regulated activity with children, it is a criminal offence to apply for this post if you are included on the children’s barred list held by the DBS.

Amendments to the Exceptions Order 1975 (2013 & 2020) provide that certain spent convictions and cautions are “protected”. These are not subject to the disclosure to employers and cannot be taken into account. Shortlisted candidates will be asked to provide details of all unspent convictions and those that would not be filtered, prior to the date of the interview. You may be asked for further information about your criminal history during the recruitment process. If your application is successful, this self-disclosure information will be checked against information from the Disclosure and Barring Service before your appointment in confirmed. We will perform online searches as part of due diligence for all shortlisted candidates.
