Finance Partner job summary

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Finance Partner to join our Finance Team, supporting a portfolio of academies within our Multi-Academy Trust.

Reporting to the Senior Finance Manager, you will work closely with Headteachers and budget holders, taking ownership of the full budget management cycle. You will play a key role in ensuring schools and central services operate within budget while delivering their strategic priorities.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead on budget setting, forecasting and financial planning for schools and central cost centres
  • Monitor financial performance, providing insightful analysis and challenge to stakeholders
  • Partner with school leaders to align finances with educational priorities and development plans
  • Maintain accurate financial data and ensure robust financial controls and compliance
  • Support audit processes and ensure adherence to relevant financial regulations
  • Identify opportunities to drive efficiency and value for money across the Trust

About you

  • Experience in a fast-paced finance environment, including budget management and financial analysis
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage complex workloads and deadlines
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • High level of numeracy, attention to detail and IT capability
  • Hold or working towards a relevant finance qualification
  • Education or public sector finance experience is desirable
