About Us:

North Brent School, part of the Wembley Multi-Academy Trust, is a vibrant institution dedicated to providing high-quality education and fostering a supportive community for our students and staff. We are seeking a highly organised Welfare Officer.

Role Overview:

We are looking to appoint an organised and collaborative individual to the role of a General Administrator at North Brent School (NBS). The successful candidate will be the main point of contact for the administration of all aspects of NBS. They will provide admin support at the school to ensure that the school is a fully inclusive environment.

The role will support with the following: welfare, attendance, and administrative process to support the overall functioning of the school. The successful candidate will provide high-quality welfare and administrative support, and work with families and staff to promote attendance and engagement.

Key Responsibilities:

Attendance & Welfare:

  • Supporting with pupil absence including liaising with Heads of Year, parents and outside agencies where necessary.
  • Prepare and support with reports and documentation for meeting including external agencies.
  • Organise and minute meetings involving pupils, parents/carers, staff or external recording, to support the running of the School.

Administrative Duties:

  • Provide effective and efficient general office support including replenishing stock where needed.
  • To update and maintain student and staff records in SIMS, if needed.
  • Support with attendance records, ensuring they are up-to-date including all interventions and meetings.
  • Generating and supporting with staff to draft and send appropriate letters home.
  • Keeping all pupil records including health records up to date, maintaining accident/incident reports, and updating associated records.
  • Support with data entry, and administration related to safeguarding, wellbeing, or referrals.
  • Maintain confidentiality at all times and comply with data protection regulations.

Reprographics Duties:

  • Printing, photocopying, collating/stapling, laminating and trimming where necessary.

Additional Duties:

  • Provide occasional cover on the school reception and supporting the school with general administrative tasks such as answering the phones, responding to emails, photocopying and filing.
  • Invigilate exams.
  • Support pastoral or whole school events as required.
  • Provide administrative support for Parents’ Evenings, Open Days, and other school events.
  • Required to support the school where required, ad hoc responsibilities.

Person Specification:

  • Possess good literacy skills – Educated to A Level and have at least 5 or more A*-C GCSES’s.
  • Experience of working in a school/ college environment is desirable but not essential.
  • Excellent organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with attention to detail and excellent proofreading abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and other relevant software.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders.
  • A proactive and flexible approach to work, with the ability to adapt to changing priorities and demands.
  • Commitment to long-term employment and contributing to the success of the Trust.
