We are currently seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated General Kitchen Assistant to join our friendly and supportive catering team. This role is based at our KS2 site and plays a key part in delivering a high-quality food service for our pupils.

About the Role

As a General Kitchen Assistant, you will:

  • Support the preparation and serving of nutritious meals
  • Maintain excellent standards of food hygiene and cleanliness
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety and food hygiene regulations
  • Help create a safe, efficient, and welcoming kitchen environment

You will contribute directly to ensuring that all food served is prepared safely and to a high standard, supporting the wellbeing of our school community.

What We’re Looking For

We are looking for someone who has:

  • The ability to prepare and present a range of foods including vegetables, salads, fruit, sauces, desserts, sandwiches, and beverages
  • Good communication skills, with the ability to interact positively with both adults and children
  • Basic numeracy skills for portion control and food preparation
  • Ability to carry out practical food preparation tasks safely and efficiently
  • Ability to follow instructions accurately and work effectively as part of a team
