Geography Teacher job summary

We are pleased to be advertising for a Geography teacher to join our great team. Geography is our most popular GCSE option subject at Key Stage 4 and we are now enhancing this further as we develop our post-16 offer which will include Geography for the second year in a row at A-Level. To deliver the subject well we need an additional teacher who can work at least 3 days per week to inspire our students to continue to develop a love of Geography. Geography is taught in a dedicated Humanities block and benefits from access to the latest Clevertouch interactive technology. To join this team you need to be a qualified Geography teacher who is keen to teach both GCSE and A-Level. You will need to be hardworking, dedicated to ensuring students of all abilities can succeed and, crucially, a great classroom teacher. We welcome applications from both experienced teachers and those who will be ECTs. The Curriculum Leader oversees an experienced team of staff and this would be a strong set of colleagues to start a teaching career working alongside. For ECTs interested in applying we are delivering the Early Career Framework in partnership with the Ambition Institute as their coaching model complements well the established coaching practices we have in the school for all teaching staff. Slough and Eton is a great school on the outskirts of Slough, which serves the Chalvey community. We are relentlessly focused on ensuring great teaching, learning and experiences are at the core of what we do. It is an exciting time for us and our students are a pleasure to work with. If you are interested in finding out more then please read the welcome letter from our Headteacher and feel free to visit the school in advance of applying. We welcome applications from colleagues who may wish to be considered in a part-time/job share capacity and are happy to explore flexible working arrangements. We are, of course, committed to safeguarding the welfare of our students and staff and will conduct all necessary DBS checks as part of our recruitment process. If you would like to contribute to our exciting future please visit our website at www.slougheton.com in the vacancy section for further details and application pack or contact our HR Advisor, Beverly Glanville for an application form using vacancies@slougheton.com. CVs alone will not be accepted as a valid application.
