Governance Clerk - Lowbrook Academy

This is a casual post, and the individual would be required to work ad-hoc with advance notice.

We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a professional governance clerk. The individual will play a crucial role in supporting the governance and operational functions in respect of permanent exclusions and complaint committees, ensuring compliance with legal requirements, timelines and best practice.


Key Reponsibilities:

  • Schedule and organise meetings in line with statutory timeframes and notify all parties of arrangement; ensuring compliance is maintained if rescheduling is required.
  • Prepare and distribute agendas, meeting papers and supporting documents in advance of meetings.
  • Attend meetings to take accurate notes and minutes. Follow up on any actions from previous meetings.
  • Manage correspondence and communicate with the Chair to ensure panel discussion and decisions are accurately captured and communicated to all parties.
  • Maintain and update all governance records, including statutory registers and ensure all information is compliant with legal requirements.
  • Assist with the induction, recruitment and development of Governors, including their training and performance.

Experience of preparation of meeting agenda's, minutes and reports, clerking experience would be preferred.
