Graduate Teaching Assistant job summary
We are looking for a Graduate Teaching Assistant to work across all key stages within this Ofsted rated outstanding maintained special school for pupils with severe learning difficulties. It is the perfect opportunity for an aspiring Primary Teacher who is keen to gain first-hand experience working in a special school before enrolling onto Teacher Training. Amwell View School & Specialist Sports College caters for pupils with severe learning difficulties aged between 2 and 19 years who may have singular or multiple difficulties. The school enjoys a very good relationship with parents, families, associated professionals and the local community. The school has an excellent range of resources and facilities, making learning possible and education fun.
The contract will be for 34 hours per week, Monday to Friday, term time (43.3 weeks per annum), 8.45am to 3.45pm with 30 minutes lunch break, including one after-school club per week 3.30pm to 5.15pm
Amwell View School has an excellent track record of supporting candidates through Initial Teacher Training (ITT) to gain QTS. You will receive high quality mentoring and support from the leadership team.
Requirements are:
• 2:1 or 1st Class Degree
• Level 4 or C in GCSE Mathematics, English and Science
You will have the opportunity to work in a team under the direction of the Class Teacher.
Application for the Teacher Training is conditional upon successfully passing a Reading and Writing task and the formal interview process with the University of Hertfordshire.
