What skills and experience we're looking for

1 To be a graduate and either possess a humanities degree or degree in another relevant subject

2 To have a sound and developing knowledge of the subject area and be willing to teach across the age and ability range.

3 A genuine passion for teaching humanities, specifically Citizenship.

4 The ability to be an outstanding humanities teacher.

5 To be aware of the particular needs of teaching in an all Girls’ school.

6 To be able to set and maintain high expectations of work and behaviour.

7 To have some understanding of Equal Opportunities issues and a determination to apply the school’s Equal Opportunities Policy in all aspects of work as a professional.

8 To be able a competent user of ICT in the delivery of lessons, recording and analysis of data and provision on online learning.

9 To help develop the work and ethos appropriate to the school.

We are looking to appoint an exceptional Head of Citizenship and teacher of History with a dynamic and inspirational approach to teaching. An individual that will become an integral part of the department, who will support the department in achieving its ambitious targets and goals. We would like a teacher who believes in collaboration both for students and when working with colleagues. The ideal candidate will be expected to contribute to extra-curricular activities within the department.

We are looking for a teacher who has:

  • The ability to be an outstanding History teacher
  • The willingness to work as part of a motivated and dedicated team.
  • The drive and enthusiasm to engage and inspire pupils.
