Head of D&T job summary
As Head of D&T, you will help maintain the ethos of the school by driving our organisational culture and drive.
You will be responsible for:
Raising standards of progress and attainment across all DT subjects
Provide strong leadership that results in a D&T team which provides first class teaching and learning opportunities
Instigate and develop an innovative approach to D&T that will stimulate all students to achieve their potential, including the most able and most disadvantaged students
To provide specialist subject expertise for the Senior Leadership Team and departmental staff in order to secure rapid improvement in D&T outcomes
About You
The successful candidate will have excellent subject knowledge of D&T subjects and be able to lead and improve the teaching of D&T from Year 7 to 11.
As a highly effective and innovative Head of D&T, the successful candidate will inspire others in the team and provide subject specific support across the department as well as providing day-to-day leadership and management support. The ability to analyse student progress data in Key Stage 3 and 4 will be required in order to ensure that the most effective interventions are in place to secure outstanding progress for all students.
