As the Head of Maths, you will work directly with the Headteacher to craft and deliver a bold vision for the subject. This is a full-time leadership position where you will drive results within our school and across the wider Trust.

You will:

  • Line manage departmental staff, providing support, guidance, and high-quality subject-specific CPD.
  • Contribute to the progress and successful implementation of the academy and Departmental Developments Plans with specific responsibility for the Maths Department.
  • Develop and enhance the teaching practice of teachers in the department.
  • Promote the Maths Faculty as a subject across the Academy.
  • Collaborate with the Senior Leadership Team to deliver a high-quality, cost-effective curriculum that aligns with the trust’s ambitious educational goals.
  • Maintain accreditation with examination bodies and stay ahead of national curriculum changes.

To be successful, you will have:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a relevant degree.
  • Demonstrable success in previous roles, with the ability to manage resources and address underperformance effectively.
  • A passion for maths and an ability to teach across a range of students of different ages and abilities.
  • The drive to "make things happen" both within the maths department and across the wider school community.
  • A deep-rooted dedication to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
