Head of Design & Technology job summary

The Governors of St Edmund Arrowsmith Catholic High School wish to appoint an enthusiastic, highly motivated and inspirational Head of Design and Technology. The successful candidate must be able to teach all areas of Design and Technology including Food. We are looking to recruit a curriculum leader who will shape the future direction of the Department, with the ability to lead a strong team of highly skilled practitioners, building on the current high standards and with clear ideas for future improvement. We are looking for a genuine ‘team player’ who will contribute to all activities within the school in order to provide our pupils with the very best opportunities to develop and achieve. The departmental ethos ‘creativity is at the heart of everything we do’ plays a significant role in developing creativity and enthusing our young learners to develop core skills such as problem solving, collaboration and communication. The successful applicant will:  Be a highly skilled practitioner who can teach a range of material areas (including Food) to GCSE/GCSE equivalent.  Be a committed professional who has a real passion for Design and Technology.  Be able to implement and deliver an appropriately broad, balanced, relevant and differentiated curriculum for all students.  Bring innovative ideas and vibrancy to the classroom.
