Role summary:

  • To be accountable for all aspects of the delivery of the subjects and ensure that all arrangements are managed and led effectively.
  • Manage the delivery of schemes of work and ensure that assessment points are met.
  • Provide guidance and lead other teachers in the delivery of Science.
  • Effectively market and promote the subject to prospective students.
  • Quality assure teaching and learning in the Faculty.
  • Stay abreast of curriculum developments and assessment opportunities related to this area and advise on future initiatives.
  • Monitor the progress of cohorts and employ effective intervention strategies where appropriate and required.
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents and carers.
  • To inspire, develop and line manage an expert team of Science teachers
  • To actively contribute to the Lionheart Educational Trust Science curriculum
