Head of Kitchen

This is a permanent role working 32.5 hours per week term time only, a total of 39 weeks, 38 term time weeks and an additional 5 days, some of which may be required to work during holiday periods to meet training requirements and other operational needs such as clean down & set up during the summer holiday period.

This is an exciting time to join us as we start a new catering contract working alongside our Catering Business Partner ABM Catering Solutions where you will help to deliver GROW, a healthy, nutritious, home cooked lunch time offering to our 350 pupils.

Our successful candidate will be someone who is willing to work as part of the whole school team, to ensure that our pupils receive high quality meals each day, whilst maintaining a safe & hygienic environment. You will be able to ensure that we meet & maintain the School Food Standards.

Above all, you will help to ensure that lunch time becomes an indispensable part of our school day and helps to complement our pupils learning experience

To succeed in this role you will need to be flexible in your approach to work, be able to work as part of a team as well and have excellent standards and expectations of what our school should look like.

You will have great experience of food preparation, cooking & serving in a busy environment. You will be expected to support the Headteacher & Business Manager in planning and preparing termly menu plans that meet the School Food Standards. Working with our partners ABM catering, it will be your responsibility to manage manage the day to day running of the kitchen, stock control, cleaning , hygiene to which extent a knowledge of HACCP & COSHH will be needed

As Head of Kitchen you will be responsible for the direct line management of the kitchen team with support from ABM and the School Business Manager

As you will be working in a school environment, you must have the ability to work well with and relate to children. Our school has a diverse cultural population as well as a number of children with additional needs.
