THIS IS AN INTERNAL POSITION FOR THE ACTIVE LEARNING TRUST EMPLOYEES ONLY

Job title: Head of PE

Contract: Permanent, Full-time

Salary: MPS, £31,650 to £43,607 / UPS, £45,646 to £49,084 + £8,279 (TLR2.1)

Are you committed to the delivery of excellent teaching and recognise the importance of Physical Education within the curriculum? Do you have the leadership skills to support department staff and help students achieve their full potential? If so, we would love to hear from you!

Key responsibilities:

  • Providing information for parents and colleagues about the work of the department and students' progress
  • Promoting links between KS2 and KS3
  • Assisting with cover and preparing work for absent department staff
  • Budgeting and managing the department's capitation allowance in consultation with Link SLT member
  • Assisting the Assistant Principal with the production of timetables

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to make a significant impact on the learning and development of our pupils, while contributing to the overall ethos and success of the academy. As the Head of PE you will play a key role, producing schemes of work for the department and monitoring their implementation, as well as supporting the staff within your department and teaching across the full age and ability range.
