What skills and experience we're looking for
THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:
- The ability to teach Dance up to GCSE / BTEC level or Drama up to A Level
- A passion for the Arts
- A portfolio demonstrating their work.
- A high expectation for students of all abilities
- Forward thinking disposition, creative, receptive to change and able to work within and contribute to the continual development of the team.
- A detailed knowledge of the curriculum and its means of delivery.
- Leadership experience
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- QTS (Qualified Teacher Status).
- An Arts related degree and the ability to teach Dance to Key Stage 4 or Drama up to A level.
- Some leadership experience and a desire to take the next step in their career to lead a faculty and ensure high standards.
- A willingness to work both independently and collaboratively for the benefit of students.
- Involvement in the extra-curricular programme

The Blandford School is seeking to appoint a highly motivated Head of Performing and Creative Arts (and Dance or Drama teacher) to join our thriving and supportive school. The successful applicant will have the opportunity to teach Year 7 to Year 13 Dance or Drama and Performing Arts, including GCSE, BTEC and A Level alongside overseeing the strategic development of the faculty which includes Drama, Dance, Music and Art, while also enhancing our extra-curricular programme. Subjects in the faculty are highly valued and popular with students, performance outcomes in some subjects are excellent and others are improving. The school also offers a range of extra-curricular opportunities in the arts, culminating with an annual production in the Tivoli Theatre in Wimborne each year.
