What skills and experience we're looking for

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and committed PE teacher to lead our successful Physical Education Department. Applications are welcomed from both experienced Heads of Department and ambitious teachers aspiring to take their first step into middle leadership.

This is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic individual who can demonstrate resilience, innovation, and the capacity to be an outstanding middle leader. The successful candidate will play a key role in shaping the future direction of PE within the school and inspiring a culture of high achievement and participation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the PE Department, driving high standards of teaching and learning
  • Inspire and motivate students to develop a lifelong engagement with physical activity
  • Ensure excellent outcomes for all groups of students, enabling at least good progress
  • Provide appropriate challenge and support so every student can achieve their full potential
  • Maintain and further develop our high-quality PE provision, including extracurricular opportunities
  • Support and develop colleagues within the department

The Ideal Candidate Will:

  • Be a passionate and skilled PE practitioner
  • Demonstrate strong leadership potential or proven middle leadership experience
  • Have a track record of securing positive student outcomes
  • Show resilience, creativity, and a commitment to continuous improvement
  • Be dedicated to inclusive practice and student success
