We have a reputation for success in the local area and, for several years now, have proudly achieved and maintained positive progress 8 and positive value added scores figures at both KS4 and 5.

As well as our excellent academic performance in external examinations, we are also immensely proud of the destinations that our students go on to post-KS5. Examples of just some of the courses many of our most recent students have gone onto study are:

These all contribute to the development of the well-rounded and academically successful scientists that we produce and who proudly graduate from our sixth form college each year.

Our team works collaboratively in the planning and development of our curriculum which means that the successful candidate will work in a team sharing ideas and planning an area of the curriculum. This has been really powerful in reducing our workload within the department.
The successful candidate will teach years 12 and 13 A-level Physics and may also teach GCSE Physics in years 10 and 11. There will also be responsibility for leading and developing the physics curriculum in the department where you will be able to implement your own ideas and impart your expert knowledge upon the rest of the team through collaborative planning and leading of CPD sessions for other department members.

For the right candidate, discussions can be had about whether the post is to be full or part-time. Pay and TLR for head of physics responsibilities will be discussed at interview.
