Job summary
Required for April 2021 or sooner, an experienced practitioner to lead our expanding, newly-renovated and high-performing Science Faculty.
The current postholder has received promotion within the Watergrove Trust and this has created an exciting opportunity for an excellent scientist, teacher and leader to join Matthew Moss High School, an academy with an established reputation for providing excellent professional development within a culture of learning and innovation. Matthew Moss High School is an over-subscribed and rapidly- school with a "Good" Ofsted judgement. Science value-added results in 2019 were in the top 10% nationally and 5% of our Yr 11 gained a top level 9 in Science, compared with the national average of 0.9%. Matthew Moss High School is part of the Watergrove Trust and the successful candidate will enjoy exceptional opportunities for self-development in both Science and Leadership, across and beyond the Trust.
The latest Ofsted report highlighted that "Staff morale is high" and that "One hundred per cent of staff said that professional development is used to encourage, challenge and support improvements in teaching.". Inspectors also noted that "relationships between staff and pupils are a real strength".
