What are we looking for?

The Governing Body is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, committed and well-qualified Head of Year (Pastoral) to join our highly committed team, to take a leading role in supporting the welfare, safeguarding and personal development of students within a designated year group. The position will be a fixed term appointment for 1 year starting on 1st September 2026.

The ideal candidate will have a positive impact on student wellbeing, attendance and engagement, and be effective at supporting students to overcome barriers to learning. They will have experience in a pastoral, safeguarding or school-based role, excellent interpersonal skills, strong organisational ability and the capacity to work effectively with students, families and external agencies. This is an exciting opportunity for a positive, enthusiastic and committed individual. The work will involve leading on safeguarding, attendance and welfare, as well as supporting students through targeted interventions, including 1:1 and small group work.

You will need to work well within a team and have the highest expectations to ensure our students achieve positive outcomes. You must have a strong commitment to safeguarding and student wellbeing, and be willing to work closely with vulnerable students and their families, as well as a range of external professionals.
