Head Teacher job summary
Head Teacher
Group 6 – L25 – L31 (£76,141 to £88,187)
Due to the retirement of our highly regarded and respected Headteacher, the Governors are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and dynamic Headteacher to build on our school’s current strengths and achievements.
We are a caring, happy and successful special school situated in Olton, Solihull on the Langley Secondary School Campus and the Green Lane Site in Shirley. The school caters for pupils from 2-19 with a wide range of Special Education Needs including Autism Spectrum Disorder, Global Developmental Delay and Severe Learning Difficulties.
In September 2018, we took over responsibility for the Green Lane nursery site and from September 2020, this site now incorporates our Nursery and Reception class. In September 2021, we shall be taking over Coronation Youth Centre which is also on the Green Lane Site. This will enable us to provide better provision for our 14-19 pupils and will give the successful candidate a very exciting opportunity to be part of this new development within our school.
Our vision is “To be the best of the best; to be a place where “Every Individual” really does matter, to maximise independent learning and enjoyment in line with school aims and to be a positive, happy and fun learning environment with outstanding features”
The new Headteacher will be a dynamic and creative individual with previous, successful experience as a Headteacher or Deputy/Assistant Headteacher.
We are looking for someone who has:
• Excellent leadership skills
• A commitment to realising the potential of every child
• The ability to inspire and motivate others
• Sound organisational and financial skills
• A commitment to continuing a specialised curriculum
• A supportive nature
• Someone who values our ethos and will continue to build on the school’s current strengths.
We will offer you:
• Enthusiastic pupils who are eager to learn and are proud of their school.
• Motivated, committed, dedicated and experienced staff and a happy, friendly working environment.
• An opportunity to build upon the momentum of recent progress and successes.
• Supportive Governors, parents and Local Authority who are committed to developing the school alongside the Headteacher.
Informal visits to the school are most welcome providing it is safe to do so due to Covid 19. These will be held after school hours between Monday 19th and Wednesday 21st April through prior arrangement. We would encourage you to do a Rapid Lateral Flow Test on arrival, and a mask will also be provided. Please either e-mail the school office on 503office@reynalds-cross.solihull.sch.uk or telephone 0121 707 3012.
We are also providing a virtual tour of the School which can be found using the following link:
