Headteacher job summary
We are seeking to appoint a full time and permanent headteacher for Carnforth School, situated near central Worcester. Carnforth School is an academy and is part of The Black Pear Trust family of schools.
The successful candidate will be highly motivated and inspirational leader who will continue to build on the strengths of our school. We wish to recruit someone who has a proven track record of successful leadership and a deep understanding of a purposeful and ambitious curriculum.
We need someone who will have
• A sound understanding of safeguarding
• A thorough understanding of the National Curriculum
• A proven track record of rapid and sustained, school improvement
• Experience of collaborative working for example linked with our partner school
• Commitment to all areas of a child’s development
• Excellent leadership and management skills
• A good communicator
• Some business understanding /experience to drive opportunities for the school to survive
• Skills of clear reporting and a reputation for transparency
• True passion for the love of learning – the belief in every child’s potential to succeed
• A good understanding and appreciation of our diverse community.
• A commitment to engage fully with parents/carers and the wider community

The Headteacher will be required to carry out the duties as set out in the School Teacher’s Pay and Conditions Document. The Headteacher is accountable to both the Governing Body of Carnforth School, and the Trustees of The Black Pear Trust. The Headteacher will undertake all the duties of the job in accordance with all legal requirements, including health and safety, safeguarding and employment legislation.
