Headteacher job summary

We are looking to appoint a new headteacher to Copperfield Academy in Gravesend. We are interested to hear from experienced headteachers, or outstanding deputy headteachers who feel they have the desired professional qualities. We are looking for someone with drive, ambition and a proven track record of successful school leadership to lead Copperfield Academy to further success. With the opportunity to experience the support and network offered by the REAch2 Academy Trust, this post would suit an experienced person looking for the next challenge and wanting to join a highly supportive MAT. You will be able to lead, motivate, develop, and inspire a school team of staff and governors who are passionately committed to giving pupils a wide range of real-life and enriching experiences, within a culture of high expectations.

Copperfield is an old and long-established Northfleet School, having opened as Dover Road School in 1904.

Increasing success in recent months has meant we are fast becoming a very popular school with local families and we currently have the children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren here of former pupils. We are known for extending a warm welcome to families that are new to Gravesend and to many families new to the UK.
