What skills and experience we're looking for

We are seekingan enthusiastic and inspirational leader to guide High View Primary Learning Centre into its next exciting chapter. This is a unique opportunity to build on a strong foundation and shape the future of a thriving, ambitious school at the heart of its community.

High View is a warm, inclusive and highly regarded primary school serving 466 pupils aged 3–11, located in the heart of Wombwell, Barnsley. The school is proud of its welcoming ethos, strong community ties and a dedicated, highly skilled staff team committed to providing the very best for every child.

This role offers the chance to lead a school that is already successful and well-loved, while driving forward a clear vision for excellence, innovation and creativity. We are looking for a Headteacher who will inspire a culture of high expectations and continuous improvement, ensuring that every child thrives, achieves and develops a lifelong love of learning.

Strong partnerships with parents and carers are central to the school’s success, creating an environment where children feel valued, supported and proud of their achievements. The successful candidate will build on these relationships while further strengthening the school’s role as a vibrant hub within the community.

As Headteacher, you will provide strategic leadership and professional direction, securing the highest standards of teaching, learning and outcomes. You will champion the school and Trust vision of enabling every child to fulfil their potential, fostering a culture rooted in excellence, equality and ambition.

We are particularly keen to hear from candidates who:

  • Demonstrate strong and successful leadership experience within a primary setting
  • Have a proven track record of driving sustained school improvement and high-quality teaching and learning
  • Inspire, motivate and develop staff and pupils to achieve their very best
  • Are relentless in securing high outcomes for all pupils, regardless of background or need
  • Use data intelligently to inform strategy, challenge performance and accelerate progress
  • Are resilient, reflective and lead with integrity and purpose
  • Are committed to playing a full and active role in the wider development of the school and Trust

This is more than a Headship; it is an opportunity to make a lasting difference to a community and to lead a school where children are at the centre of everything we do.

If you are driven by the desire to make a meaningful impact and ready to lead with vision, energy and compassion, we would be delighted to hear from you.
