What skills and experience we're looking for

Applications are invited from practising and committed Catholics for the post of Headteacher of English Martyrs’ Catholic Primary School.

English Martyrs’ is a small family orientated Catholic Primary School which offers high quality educational opportunities set in a context of spirituality and respect for each person’s dignity and uniqueness. Our mission is to “Love, learn and grow together through Jesus Christ” and we create a happy and secure environment where children enjoy coming to school in the knowledge that they are unique and valued as members of God’s family.

We are looking for a leader who can support us with our vision of English Martyrs’ being a place where children can learn, develop and grow in a caring, nurturing environment and where they can become successful, motivated learners and responsible citizens who can make a positive contribution to society and show respect to others.

English Martyrs’ Catholic Primary School is part of Bishop Chadwick Catholic Education Trust which is one of four Trusts in the Diocese of Hexham and Newcastle. The Trust includes five Secondary and twenty-five Primary Schools across South Tyneside, Sunderland and East Durham.

Bishop Chadwick Catholic Education Trust safeguards and protects its students and staff by being committed to respond in accordance with South Tyneside Child Protection Procedures. Enhanced DBS checks are mandatory for all school staff.
