What skills and experience we're looking for

We are seeking a collaborative and innovative leader to join our diverse and inclusive school as Headteacher. This opportunity arises as we embark on a new chapter following the departure of our current Headteacher in August 2024.

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate that they have experience in effective senior leadership with a deep understanding of how to embed a purposeful and ambitious curriculum for the school. They will be self-motivated, ambitious and fully focused on inspiring our pupils, staff and the extended school community.

The expectation is that our new Headteacher to continue enabling all students to flourish and develop their full potential, regardless of their background or individual needs.

Our recent ‘Good’ Ofsted inspection in March 2023, reflects our dedication to high-quality teaching and learning. Here is an extract from that report:

“Paddox Primary School is a caring and welcoming learning community. Pupils come from many diverse backgrounds and faiths, but all are fully included in school life. At playtimes and in lessons, pupils follow leaders’ high expectations. Pupils play happily, work hard and achieve well.”

The Headteacher will be strategic in their approach in addressing focus areas highlighted in the report. They will deliver on the objectives that we have set around the direction on curriculum, targets for SEND and attendance. The full report can be found here Ofsted Report.

With this in mind, the Governing body at Paddox Primary School are focused on recruiting someone who will uphold and develop our school's ethos and values, lead initiatives to improve outcomes for all students, and foster a culture of high expectations and achievement. They will work collaboratively with students, colleagues, parents, governors, and the local community to continue our school's development journey.
