Working Pattern: This is a permanent position working 1.0 FTE, 39 weeks per year.

South Brent Primary School are looking for a Headteacher to start September 2026. This position provides an exciting and unique opportunity for a person with a proven, successful track record in a senior leadership role.

South Brent Primary School is a very special place to work, in a beautiful rural location. South Brent village is situated on the edge of Dartmoor National Park and surrounded by farmland. As a school in a rural area it benefits from extensive grounds providing a range of outdoor education areas.

The school has a dedicated team of staff and governors who work together to create a school where there is a real sense of community and where staff and learners can flourish. The school aims to provide a stimulating and fun learning environment where pupils are encouraged, supported, motivated and challenged to undertake their personal journey of discovery.

South Brent was judged “Good” in its Ofsted in 2023.

We are looking for a candidate who will:

Have proven success in whole school leadership and management Be innovative, determined and driven to constantly seek improvement for the children and communities that we serve Have the vision and skill to maximize the resources of the school Continue to drive improvements in curriculum, teaching, learning and assessment Be able to demonstrate highly accurate and effective communication skills Have a positive and active approach to cross school collaboration
