What skills and experience we're looking for
Due to the planned early retirement of our well-respected and dedicated headteacher; the governors, staff and pupils of South Petherwin CP School are seeking a person in a position of senior leadership to become their next headteacher.
Located in beautiful North Cornwall, South Petherwin is a very popular, over-subscribed school at the core of the community. The children are at the heart of every decision that is made to ensure they are happy, confident and motivated to achieve endless possibilities.
The school is LA maintained, part of the Launceston Rural Learning Trust and was judged as ‘good’ at its last inspection by Ofsted in 2017. There are 114 children in the school in five classes plus a newly established pre-school.
We are looking for someone who:
• is passionate about developing children’s learning and will continue to drive school improvement
• will embrace and build on our current strengths and ethos to inspire
• is confident and competent with all areas of school management
• has excellent communication and people skills• is approachable and supportive of the local community
