About South Wingfield Primary School

Thank you for your interest in South Wingfield Primary School, a 'good' primary school within a small Derbyshire village, near to the A38/M1 for easy access to Sheffield, Derby, Nottingham, etc.

We're a small primary school with 5 classes, and therefore mixed year groups. We are an inclusive and welcoming school, with a high percentage of children with Special Educational Needs. Our school mission is to support all children to achieve their maximum academic and personal potential.

We have a Victorian school, which is at the heart of the village (along with the pub, social club, church and preschool). The school has playgrounds with equipment, and a vegetable plot, a pond and access to a large playing field. The school is fortunate to provide Forest Schools for all children, which they all love and gain so much from. The school also offers music opportunities for all children for at least 1 year (as well as wider opportunities where self-funded), and also offers breakfast and after school club which attracts many pupils to the school.
