Headteacher - St. John with St. Michael CE Primary School job summary
The governors of St John with St Michael CE Primary School are looking to appoint an inspirational Headteacher with excellent leadership skills.
The successful candidate will lead and inspire us in our drive to build on and develop our current practice in order to raise pupil achievement.
The school has applied to join the Forward as One CE Multi Academy Trust. This means that the successful candidate will receive strong professional development and mentoring as part of a strong Trust with collaboration at its heart and a mission to ensure that all within the Trust family can flourish. We are looking for a leader who is committed to promoting and enriching the Christian values of our school and with the proven ability to:
•Develop a strong team and bring innovation and execute changes in an ever-changing learning environment.
•Inspire and instil a culture of high expectations and enthuse our children to enjoy and own their learning.
•Ensure our school has a quality curriculum and that teaching throughout school is creative, innovative and rooted in evidenced based research. Ensuring this develops the talents, wellbeing and success of all members of the school community.

St John with St Michael (SJSM) CE Primary School is a warm and welcoming voluntary aided school set in the picturesque area of Shawforth in the Rossendale Valley.
We are a small school for pupils aged 4 –11 years and have a Nursery unit where children can start from Rising 3. We currently have 107 children on roll and serve a village community.
Our most recent OFSTED inspection in March 2017 states that the school continues to be 'good'.
We also received a Diocesan SIAMS inspection in February 2019 and were awarded good in all areas with excellent support offered to pupils and their families, both within and beyond the school day, reflects the commitment of governors and staff to ensuring that the vision is lived out daily.
