Headteacher job summary

Thank you for your interest in the role of Headteacher at St Joseph's Catholic Primary School.

St. Joseph's is a warm and inclusive Catholic primary school with a strong sense of family, where Gospel values are central. Our pupils are enthusiastic, caring and eager to learn, our staff are dedicated and talented, and our families actively support the life of the school. We are proud of our Catholic identity and the positive relationships that exist throughout our school community.

As the next Headteacher, you will have the opportunity to build upon the school's strengths while leading continuous improvement. We are seeking an inspirational, committed and faith-filled leader who will guide the school into its next chapter with vision, compassion and determination.

Our most recent OfSTED and Section 48 inspections in 2024 both rated our school as “Good”, and, as we recognise that such judgements are transitory, since that time we have continued to move forward and have implemented changes that will help our children to be their very best - the person, we believe, that God calls them to be.

As part of the Blessed Edward Bamber Catholic Multi Academy Trust, we work in partnership as one family of schools, whilst maintaining and celebrating the uniqueness of each individual school and the community it serves. We are a values-driven Trust. Our core values of Trust, Respect, Faith, Hope and Service are our hallmarks. These values underpin all of our relationships, between staff, pupils, families, our wider parishes and local communities.

If you would like to know more about the school, please take a look at our website ( www.st-josephs kirkham.lancs.sch.uk ) and, if you so wish, take the opportunity to visit us by prior arrangement using the contact details advised in the application pack.

Thank you for considering this vocation. If you believe you have the knowledge, skills and experience to make a positive contribution, we look forward to learning more about you and would welcome an application from you.

Please refer to the application pack for the person specification, job description and further details.
