Stoberry Park School
Headteacher
Required for January 2023
Salary Grade L16 to L21
Due to our longstanding Headteacher retiring we are looking to recruit the right person with the ambition to lead us and build on our current success.
Stoberry Park School is a primary school in the small city of Wells in Somerset. We are a local authority maintained school on the outskirts of the city. We have built a reputation for caring for our pupils while developing high standards across a rich and varied curriculum.
We are looking for somebody with innovative ideas to help the school create and encourage enquiring minds and the development of a thriving sustainable future with positive learning skills and attitudes.
Our children and school community are looking for a Headteacher who will:
• Have ambitious standards for all pupils, overcoming disadvantage and advancing equality, instilling a strong sense of ownership and accountability from staff for the impact their work has on pupils’ outcomes
• Prioritise the wellbeing, resilience and achievements of our children and staff and put this at the heart of all decisions. Continue our ethos within which an already skilled staff team are motivated and supported to research and develop
• Be visible and accessible, engaging positively with children, staff, parents, governors, and the community
• Provide a safe, calm environment for all pupils and staff, focused on safeguarding pupils and developing their exemplary behaviour in school and in the wider society
• Evaluate the school’s performance and identify the priorities for continuous improvement and raising standards. Can be creative in dealing with finance and budgeting in these times of reducing budgets, to deliver the best education and support to our children
• Ensure that the child protection and safeguarding policies and procedures adopted by the governing body are fully implemented and followed by all staff
In return we offer:
• Confident, happy children who enjoy their time in school and are eager to learn and succeed
• Committed professional staff who are open to development and new ideas
• A fully supportive governing body who are ambitious for the school and its pupils
• A bright, spacious and well-resourced learning environment set in green space
