Headteacher job summary
We are seeking a values-driven, outward facing Headteacher, to lead this successful and happy school within our Trust. This is an exciting role for an ambitious leader who can commit to our shared Trust mission of ‘Nurturing ambition, delivering excellence and enriching children’s lives’.
Our community of Headteachers and leaders within our Trust, support each other brilliantly, and with the backing of a strong and expert central team, make our Trust a great place to work. Red Kite Learning Trust is a community of 16 schools across Harrogate and Leeds, big enough to make a difference but small enough to ensure every school has a voice and influence over our future.

About our School
Templenewsam Halton Primary School is a vibrant, caring community school where children are encouraged to flourish both academically and personally. Our school rules — we are safe, motivated and respectful — are central to everyday life and help create an environment where pupils feel secure, confident and ready to learn. Children take great pride in their behaviour and staff apply expectations fairly and consistently. Pupils enjoy celebrating their achievements whether it’s being recognised on the class wall or striving for the Grace Wheeldon Award for kindness.
We are proud to be rated ‘Good’ by Ofsted (March 2023) which reflects the strength of our provision, the dedication of our staff and the positive culture that underpins all we do.
Founded in 1842 as the village school, Templenewsam Halton has remained a central and cherished part of the community. Today we welcome children aged 3 to 11 and are delighted to serve around 500 pupils each bringing their own strengths, personalities and aspirations.
At the heart of our school is a passionate and close knit team who are deeply committed to building strong relationships with children and families. Together we create an inclusive, nurturing and inspiring environment where every child feels valued, supported and empowered to achieve their very best.
