High Level Teaching Assistant job summary

Hours: 8:30am - 12:15pm Monday - Friday, term-time only, (18 hours and 45 minutes per week)

As a higher level teaching assistant (HLTA), you will contribute to the continuous development of our well-resourced provision, where there will be plenty of developmental opportunities. We are looking for an experienced HLTA who can demonstrate sound knowledge and understanding of children’s development needs, common learning and behavioural difficulties..

The role will include working within a learning framework set by the headteacher, provide teaching and learning support for the educational and personal needs of pupils, which ensures that they have equality of access to opportunities to learn and develop.

When required, you will supervise the teaching of classes planned by, or with, the class teacher working flexible across KS1 and KS2. In the case of sickness cover, planning may not be available in the first instance. When acting as nominated supervisor you will be required to manage other support staff employed within the classroom environment.

Training and CPD will be offered to support you in the curriculum area you will be teaching and an interest in teaching computing would be desirable
