Higher Level Teaching Assistant job summary
We are looking for a Higher-Level Teaching Assistant to join our team and work closely with other members. This role requires excellent communication skills and the ability to be flexible when needed. The position will involve working with students across the entire school age range, from EYFS to Year 6.
We are seeking a confident and professional new member for our Teaching & Learning team. As part of your role, you will work in partnership with teachers to deliver learning activities to whole classes, as well as dedicate time to specific groups and individuals. This is an excellent opportunity for a highly motivated candidate with the ability to use their own initiative to assess and evaluate pupils' needs, aiming to identify and resolve barriers to learning.

Sidegate is a vibrant three-form entry primary school in the north of Ipswich. The school hosts a 25 place Specialist Education Unit for pupils with moderate learning difficulties, giving approximately 655 pupils on roll. The school boasts large grounds, an indoor swimming pool, gymnasium and good ICT provision. We pride ourselves in the broad and engaging curriculum we offer our pupils; sport and culture
feature highly and are used to enhance the curriculum in all areas. The school received a “Good” Ofsted rating in October 2022. We were the first primary school in Suffolk to be awarded the prestigious Platinum Artsmark in November 2019; we also hold quality marks in RE, Science and Sport.
Sidegate became an academy in May 2014 with The Active Learning Trust (ALT). ALT encourages each of their schools to develop a curriculum that meets the needs of the pupils in the school. They work closely with the school, providing specialist advisory support as necessary. We work closely with other schools in the ALT Ipswich Hub and the Northgate Pyramid of Schools.
