Job Overview
We have an exciting opportunity for a Higher Level Teaching Assistant to complement the professional work of teachers by taking responsibility for learning activities. The role will involve planning, preparing and delivering learning activities for individuals/groups/whole classes and monitoring pupils; assessing, recording and reporting on pupils' achievement, progress and development.
Contract and Salary Details
Hours: 6.25 hours per week (one day per week), term time only plus 5 training days (195 days)
Grade: 8, Scp 25-28, £5,347 - £5,757 per annum (actual salary)
Job Requirements
The successful candidate will:
- Meet the Higher Level Teaching Assistant standards.
- Have attended training in relevant educational strategies.
- Set challenging and demanding expectations to promote self-esteem, resilience and independence.
- Have experience of working with children of relevant age in a learning environment and supporting children with SEND needs.
- Assist in the monitoring of children’s responses to learning activities, making use of the school’s tracking data, completing accurate records and reports.
- Provide detailed and regular feedback to teachers on pupils’ attainment, progress, behaviour and attitudes to learning.
- Plan and evaluate learning and assist in the recording of pupils’ progress.
