Higher Level Teaching Assistant - EBBSA job summary
Working under the direction of the SENCo, you will play a key role in leading and developing The Gateway (EBBSA Provision), supporting students with Special Educational Needs, particularly those with Communication and Interaction needs and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. You will work closely with students, families, teachers and external agencies to ensure pupils can successfully engage with learning, develop independence, and achieve positive outcomes.
This is a varied and rewarding role that involves planning and delivering targeted learning activities in English, Maths, Science and Emotional Literacy, supporting pupils’ emotional regulation, monitoring progress, leading aspects of the SEN review process, and helping to create an inclusive and supportive learning environment. You will also take a lead role in the use of AV1 robots to support access to education for identified students.
We are looking for a motivated and compassionate individual who has excellent communication, organisational and interpersonal skills. You will be able to build positive relationships with young people and their families, demonstrate resilience and flexibility, and have the confidence to lead and support both students and colleagues within our SEND provision. A commitment to inclusion and achieving the very best outcomes for vulnerable learners is essential.
