Working pattern

Full time: Total between 35-40 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Exact times to be agreed, to include either breakfast club or after school club hours.

What skills and experience we're looking for

  • Be already experienced in an HLTA role
  • Be ready to take on the responsibility of leading sessions with children
  • To be able to confidently cover a class in a teacher’s absence and work from planning
  • Be patient, sensitive, caring and show commitment.
  • Be able to develop a good understanding of children’s individual needs and to support their progress in all areas.
  • Experience of nurture groups is desirable but not essential as training will be given
  • Be a skilled communicator and the ability to understand children’s reactions.
  • Have the ability to work using their own initiative.
  • Be hardworking with excellent organisational skills.
  • Have excellent numeracy and literacy skills.
  • Be flexible, open to change and positive with a good sense of humour.
  • Have the highest expectations for all our children and their futures.
  • Previous experience of leading classes
  • Experience of working across the primary age range is desirable.
