Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA)- Computing Specialist job summary

The role is fixed term until the end of this academic year. The role is term time only.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone passionate about technology and education to play a key role in developing pupils’ digital skills, supporting teachers in delivering high-quality computing lessons and promoting the effective use of technology in learning.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the delivery of high-quality computing and digital learning across the school.
  • Plan and deliver small group and targeted interventions to support pupils’ development of computing and digital skills.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers to support the planning and delivery of engaging computing lessons.
  • Support pupils within lessons, helping them to develop confidence and independence when using technology.
  • Assist in preparing and organising digital resources, equipment and learning materials for computing activities.
  • Monitor and record pupils’ progress and provide feedback to teachers to support effective learning.
  • Promote the safe, responsible and effective use of technology by pupils.
  • Contribute to the development of computing enrichment opportunities, such as clubs, projects or digital learning activities.
  • Support the wider school community in promoting digital skills and the effective use of ICT across the curriculum.
