Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) at Copthorne Primary School.
The successful candidate will support teaching and learning across the school, delivering lessons and interventions under the guidance of teaching staff. They will work with individuals, small groups and whole classes, covering lessons planned when required and supporting pupils with a range of needs.
Copthorne Primary School is part of Exceed Academies Trust, which currently consists of fourteen academies; ten primary schools, an all-through primary-to-secondary academy, two alternative provision academies (Primary and Secondary), and a specialist setting for children/young people who suffer from social, emotional and mental health difficulties. The successful candidate will:
- Deliver pre-planned lessons in the absence of a teacher
- Support pupils' learning across the curriculum through targeted interventions and in-class support
- Provide support for pupils with additional or specific learning needs (including SEND)
- Have a strong commitment to ensuring excellent pupil progress
- Support children's personal, social and emotional development
- Assist in the planning and delivering of lessons and learning activities
- Be dedicated to sharing responsibilities for raising standards
- Enjoy a collaborative style approach to working and learning
- Hold knowledge of successful strategies for assessing and raising pupils' achievement
