We have an exciting opportunity for a skilled and passionate Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join our amazing team. You’ll become part of a committed group of education professionals who truly make a difference. Hours of work, Monday–Friday, 8.00am–3.30pm.
At Queen’s Hill, every teacher has weekly time out of class for planning and preparation (PPA). We are looking for a confident individual with an interest in creative and outdoor activities to plan and lead engaging whole-class sessions from Reception to Year 6 as part of their PPA provision.
A typical week might include supporting Reception pupils with an art activity as part of continuous provision, leading an outdoor learning session for our KS1 pupils or designing a creative activity for our older pupils to complete, linked to their current learning.
In addition to these sessions, you will lead a weekly outdoor learning session for a small group of pupils.
You might be:
- A current HLTA looking for experience in a large school
- A recent graduate keen to develop a career in education
- Someone with experience working with children who want to join a school setting
We have over 600 pupils and 90 staff who work collaboratively to help every child achieve their full potential. Our three simple rules, Safe, Ready, Respectful, are at the heart of everything we do.
Here’s what one of our teaching assistants says:
“Since being welcomed into the QH family, I have been supported and inspired by the teaching staff. I have benefited from regular training specifically for support staff. I value working with a dedicated team, who are passionate about bringing the curriculum to life.”
What the role includes:
- Supporting pupils from Reception to Year 6, including those with additional needs
- Planning, preparing, and delivering whole-class activities as part of PPA provision
- Leading creative activities both in class and in our onsite outdoor classroom
- Running a weekly outdoor learning session for a small group of pupils
What we’re looking for:
- Enthusiasm for learning and working with children
- Confidence in leading whole-class sessions
- A team player with a flexible, can-do attitude
- Organised, respectful, and committed to making a difference
