About the role
Sherburn CE Primary Academy are looking to recruit a Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join their dedicated team. Primarily in this role you will be providing support and cover across all classrooms throughout school ranging from Nursery to Year 2. The hours for this position are 35 hours per week working Monday to Friday. This is on a fixed term basis initially until 20th December 2024 with the possibility of this role continuing until 31st August 2025.
As a Higher Level Teaching Assistant you will be passionate about teaching and learning and believe in developing the true potential of children. You will have a calm and positive disposition, the ability to break down activities into small step by step teaching and will nurture, inspire, challenge and motivate pupils.
The job requirements
You will have the ability to step in and cover in the absence of the Class Teacher in a range of classrooms and ages. Using your skills and knowledge to ensure you are able to adapt your teaching methods depending on the ages of the children whether this be whole class teaching or working with smaller groups of children.
You will be a key team player, showing resilience and flexibility in your approach.
Good, clear and effective communication will play a key role in this position as you will need to work with and alongside the child, their family and other members of staff within the school.
You will have positive behaviour management skills, and be flexible and able to work on your own initiative.
